It’s our choice! Sure, be miserable, meditate on how unfortunate you are and how the whole world is against you! You didn’t sleep well and you overslept. Now you’re late and behind the eight ball! Oh, the weather is foul and traffic is bad bringing transportation to a standstill. My health is suffering and neither do I have enough time or money to improve it. Why me? What did I do to deserve getting short changed day after day? Or, uh oh, i overslept, okay pick up the pace and GET OVER IT (the three most important words in the English language)! Even laugh about it that it’s no one’s fault but my own. Oh, bad weather, well what ya gonna do, that’s beyond our sphere of influence. Traffic, yeah, we all complain about it, but that never seems to help so deal with it and think about a solution of relocating or accepting it. My health, hum, maybe I should try exercising more and being more mindful of my diet, after all, it is my body and no one is going to be more concerned about it than me! Two daily scenarios to choose from, starting the day behind the eight ball you consciously decide whether you are going to have a positive or negative mindset. This is not some high falutin scientific issue, this is my life, your life, everyone’s life. This is not about being externally happy which comes and goes. This is about being internally joyful, grateful, and appreciative that we have the unimaginable opportunity of human life to consciously experience so many possibilities. Even if you are bedridden or maimed or penniless if you make the effort you can still find joy as it really is there for the taking!
