Bullying…

'The act of harassing, intimidating, or abusing others, especially habitually or from a perceived position of relative power.' Wow!, that doesn't sound like something that I would be attracted to...

Teleology according to Aristotle defines nature as inherently goal-directed, where everything has an intrinsic purpose or final cause (telos) it strives to fulfill. Deontology focuses on ethics and whether an action adheres to rightness and moral duties. Teleology is focused on the ends whereas deontology is concerned with the means of an action. Utilitarianism, which is basically what modern governments use as a rule of thumb, means that whatever creates the most amount of good for the most amount of people is the preferred course of action. Machiavelli in ‘The Prince’, proposes that ‘bullying’, is in fact the process which sovereigns should employ to ultimately get the most amount of good for the most amount of people for them to remain in power and the populace consents whether they agree or not unless they decide to revolt.
