Let’s approach the concept of ‘mortgage’, from a broader perspective. Ancient and even modern cultures are pledged to their parents and ancestors for their very existence in the now. All of us humans were born at some point and now we are just here experiencing life as we know it. I don’t know about you, but I think that’s pretty fantastic! For nine months our mother had to tolerate so much just for our opportunity to exist within this body. Then either our father, other family members including our mother, or the public or the State protected us until we matured. Amazing actually when you consider that there is no initial evidence that we will even be worth our salt! So is it not conceivable that this life is actually a mortgage, or debt until death that we owe to the kind hearts and sentiments of all of those who have made our very bodily existence possible?
