Joy not War

Today marks the day the USA declared war on Japan which ended 4 years later with a mushroom cloud...

On December 8th 1941, the United States declared war on Japan the day after the Japanese surprise attack on Pearl Harbor. Four days later Hitler declared war on the USA. No doubt there is plenty of arguments and discussions which can go on ad infinitum for the pros and cons of wars. However, our plea; the men, women, elderly and young who are not involved in the decision making, is that every effort to resolve differences is dealt with diplomatically. War is Hell and there’s no denying it, but in certain cases, unavoidable. In my teens the ‘Age of Aquarius’, was the rage, that humanity was on the precipice of a new era ushering in enlightenment, innovation, humanitarianism, equality and spiritual awakening. The burden is on all of us to constantly develop habits that encourage peaceful coexistence even if just letting a car go in front of us or reducing the tensions in awkward situations. The pace and intensity of our world is increasing exponentially with Artificial Intelligence and there does not appear to be a break in the action. Take a deep breath, slow down for a moment and just try to realize how we can be more tolerant and thoughtful of others which we know will foster joy and peace, if only for the moment and the day!
