Meaning: the end, purpose, or significance of something. So the big question, once humanity had the time besides survival to think about why we are here, has never had a conclusive answer. Seriously, since advanced agricultural developments affording us the time to stop and consider why we exist has never been solved? Well, theologians who are sincere will tell you from the bottom of their hearts what our purpose really is! Other spiritualists, politicians, military leaders, business leaders, parents and guardians will all try to convince us of our purpose and generally to serve them and their interests. What do I do, and whose advice and authority should I accept? These are critical decisions and should not be taken lightly! The Socratic method, philosophy 101, is to continually inquire and in the process we will perhaps or perhaps not, find our own meaning. Nietzsche was critical of Socrates that this eternal inquiry may very well mislead our true best interests which are the flourishing of our own self, the art of living! However, if one is able to become a ‘true believer’, and is convinced, beyond the shadow of a doubt in their world views, at least understand that if we take up arms on this account the ultimate results will be self destruction and not beneficial for humankind!
