This sounds like fantasy, but now with the proliferation of nuclear weapons this consideration is plausible. At this very moment, if the war in the Middle East rages on for another few weeks, oil, natural gas, helium, and fertilizer supplies will be so interrupted that millions of humans living on the edge of life will die in the coming year. If the dominating world decision makers cannot figure out a diplomatic path forward then our planetary existence is becoming way more fragile than just fears about global warming. Warmongers or peacemakers, that is what remains to be witnessed by us standing and sitting helplessly on the sidelines…
