Realization: the making or being made real of something imagined, planned, etc. So, Self-Realization would imply the human individual becoming or developing into what they have planned or imagined of themself. This understanding keeps the notion from becoming so esoteric, or other worldly. In simple terms, it just means that you become the person that you have planned, or even imagined, from whatever time in one’s existence. It is not a prerequisite for living as one may never have any other idea of becoming more than the life they are born into. Actually, until very recently in human history, did we have the means and opportunity to become other than the position in life in which we appeared. This is precisely why many philosophers view reality as teleological, meaning that it is progressing. Moving from when humankind was unable to realize their dreams, plans, and imaginations, to where now we have so many advantages that we can converse and view with each other, all over our planet. I don’t know about you, but I’m convinced that it’s EPIC!
