Repetitions, what primarily athletes refer to as repeating an action to perfect it. This is particularly a concern magnified by William James that there is practically nothing more important than developing good habits. The first habit we humans develop is the ability to walk so quickly we do not even think about it, it becomes a muscle memory. However practice does not necessarily guarantee success if the actions we are repeating are not giving us the outcome we desire. One definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result! Perfect practice makes perfect, therefore we have to continually review or reflect on whether our repetitive actions are creating the impact we desire? This is why Socrates said that the unexamined life is not worth living! We humans are blessed with superior intelligence and if we do not utilize that gift to become the best we can be it is wasteful. We may find anonymity thinking I’m only one in 8 billion, but that number is so insignificant when counting the number of organic living things that it is not even a consideration. In other words, the unimaginable chance to experience human existence is so rare and should never be taken for granted!
