Belonging…

Perhaps our greatest common desire is the need to belong. A common ideology, a religion or non-religion, a country, a community, a family, a sports team, and on and on. We want and need some identifiable common ground...

From birth until age 20 we have made uncountable decisions of this or that like a computer; zero or 1. It is practically impossible that another human could make the same conclusions which makes us completely unique and individual. Now our choices generally up until age 20 are highly affected by so many situations beyond our control, however at this point in life we can usually start making our own decisions. From this point on we should not have any substantial excuses as we have had 20 years of experience, knowledge and training to go out and make the best of our lives. This is exactly when we have to make judgments, based on what we know at this age, whether to continue belonging to views of life and reality that have basically been forced upon us. You couldn’t pick your parents or place of birth or ethnicity or diet or even and most importantly your cosmic views and now you have that freedom if you choose. From about age 20, when you have come into your own, there are essentially no more excuses, from now on we are implored to reflect about what i agree with and disagree with and start taking my own direction…or short & not so sweet: Put up, shut up or queue up, you decide!
