Garbage…

Landfills grow, releasing methane and other greenhouse gases. Plastic waste accumulates in oceans and ecosystems, harming wildlife. The production and disposal of goods consume energy and resources, increasing pollution and contributing to climate change. Over time, this depletes natural resources and damages biodiversity. And then ChatGPT on the effects of military conflicts: Debris and rubble from destroyed buildings and infrastructure. Explosive remnants like unexploded ordnance, landmines, and shell casings. Chemical and hazardous waste from fuels, lubricants, and destroyed industrial facilities. Medical waste from field hospitals and emergency care. Human waste and general refuse from military camps. Electronic and metal scrap from damaged vehicles, weapons, and communication equipment. These wastes can pose long-term environmental and health risks if not properly managed. I’m personally guilty of over consumption growing up and living in the U.S. which produces the most municipal solid waste per capita, averaging 2,097 pounds per person. However, it would seem that any rational, future thinking person, living in a country that is already creating more waste than others, would be decidedly anti-war which would at least prevent another catastrophic form of waste that is avoidable…
